SUNGLASSES AT NIGHT TONIGHT!

Tonight is the night that I have been looking forward to… If you have been following the exploits of JesseWalker.net over the past couple of weeks, then you know that this is – like – my eighth birthday party. This party was not supposed to happen. I was not going to do anything official in Montreal, but there was such a clamor, that I decided to throw an event. And not just any event, but the kind of event that I really wanted to go to… With nothing but the best from the mid 80s to the late 90s… The music that I grew up to… From Hip Hop to R&B to House and of course my favorite ‘Hammered Honky Hits’… And that is what this night is going to be, a throwback to the days at the Dawson atrium. And I hand picked four DJs that I knew could deliver the goods…
Kwite Sane. If you came to my Big Daddy Kane concert last week, then you know that he can rock the classics. No excuses. Before he was Kwite Sane; the award winning, club owning, after hours DJ; he was Kwite Sane, the Y playing, school cafeteria rocking, DJ’s DJ.
Star Q. When I heard him play at a Down with the 90s party, I knew that he could throw down with the DJs twice his age. You knew that when we were going to the clubs, he was in a basement somewhere, just practising…
Chunes. Yes, he will throw down the old Soca, but back in the day, he cut his teeth at the commercial clubs, playing the club anthems that we stood in line to listen to… And before that he was a DMC turntabilist, no joke… I expect we will some skillz (with a z)…
Blaster. Before he was touring across Quebec. He was touring across NDG with, perhaps, a side trip to Cote-Des-Neiges. I tour with him, I do a radio show with him, and I know he is happiest when he is pulling the classics out of his crate (yes, he still carries a crate). Blaster will be bringing his basement/house party vibe with him on this night…
Don’t forget, I will be celebrating my birthday, alongside my friends, Tasha P. and the Drunken Disciple. And you know how I always do my birthday: FREE ENTRY FOR ALL OUR FRIENDS!! JUST HIT UP ONE OF THE BIRTHDAY PEOPLE FOR GUESTLIST B4.1… BUT YOU HAVE TO WEAR YOUR SUNGLASSES!!! And don’t forget, we will have Loot Bags!!
