One of Hip Hop’s biggest legends, Big Daddy Kane returns to Montreal for the 20th Anniversary Concert and Old School Party.  The event takes place on Saturday March 27th, 2009 at the Saints, 30 Ste-Catherine W. in the heart of Downtown Montreal.
Before Jay-Z or even Biggie, Big Daddy Kane was the original Brooklyn rap icon.  From the jewellery and the custom designed velour suits, to the braggadocio and the women, to the trend-setting hi-top faded haircut, Kane defined Hip Hop in the late 80s
But it was Big Daddy Kane’s music, and his signature rapid-fire delivery that he was most famous for. His debut album Long Live The Kane produced by Marley Marl featured the classics “Raw,” “Set It Off” and “Ain’t No Half Steppin.” He followed that up with the album It’s a Big Daddy Thing with the singles “Smooth Operator” and “I Get the Job Done.” Kane went on to release seven albums in all.
Big Daddy Kane, with his DJ Mister Cee, and his two dancers Scoob and Scrap Lover, first came to Montreal in 1989 for a legendary performance at James Lyng. Twenty years later he returns for a special 20th Anniversary Canadian Tour. The night will be a spectacular concert and Old School party, like the way it was back in the day.
Accompanying Big Daddy Kane on tour is A.Pinks and DJ Prince from New York. There will be a special performance by breakdancers 2Marvelous. Nothing but Old School will be played all night long by some of Montreal’s top DJs, Kwite Sane,  Static,  Devious, and  Blaster. This event is hosted by legendary Old School MC The Almighty Flight.
The Big Daddy Kane Concert & Old School Party takes place on Friday March 27th, 2009 . Doors open at 9:30pm, Showtime is at 11:30pm, and the party continues until 3:00 in the morning. The Saints is located at 30 Ste-Catherine W., Corner St.Laurent in the heart of Downtown Montreal, Metro St-Laurent. Early bird tickets start at $19.50, available at all Admission outlets(admission.com), City Styles, Off The Hook, Triple AAA, SubV, Princessa and online at www.bigdaddykane.info

I Get The Job Done».
