I do not like sending out an email blast during Christmas Time. It feels phony. “Merry Christmas, Wishing you all the best… Come to my event.” That is why I waited until Boxing Day to send this out (“Sorry to interrupt your shopping, but…” sounds better.)
Unfortunately, we have to to send out this email to let you know about some change in dates and event cancellations. They say that bad news comes in threes, and in this case it is true, as we have postponements for the Streetball Legends Tour, Las Lap and Big Daddy Kane. As you know, I will not do an event unless I can do the very best event, and for each event we have done out utmost to make sure that you, the patron is 100% satisfied!! But without further noise, onto the news! More after the jump:

Due to the severe weather conditions, the Streetball Legends Tour featuring the Montreal Matrix vs And 1 Mixtape players has been postponed. The new dates of the tour will be from January 29th – February 1st, 2009. All tickets bought on admissions have been refunded automatically, all other tickets can be refunded at point of purchase or be used for the upcoming dates. In order to help make it up to you, the Montreal Matrix will be having an official party to help introduce them to the city. Come and meet the players down at Orchid, 3556 St.Laurent, this Saturday, December 27th, 2008. Music by Payce, Mahesh and MC The Almighty Chops. Unfortunately we have to cancel Las Lap, that was to have taken place this Saturday December 27th. The owner of Bacchus went out of business sold the club, and told us too last minute for us to switch venues with enough time to do a proper event. As you know, we would rather do no event than a half-assed one, and as Las Lap is the â€˜last Soca event of the yearâ€™ it did not make any sence for us to push it to 2009. However I will make it up to you, with a free fete in 2009â€¦ You know how we do!! FREENESS will be taking place in Early 2009 Stay tuned for more info on that.

For those that are need that Soca fixâ€¦ Our favorite soca soundcrew will be in Montreal for one night only. The Soca Old School Monarchs will touching down in Montreal for the annual Ultimate Old School Party boxing day tradition, 30/30 alongside Majess, Butcher T and The Almighty Flight. I have heard the Soca Monarchs throw down an Old School set, and trust me you do not want to be sleeping on this. Taking place tonight, Dec. 26!! at Rosalie, 1232 de la Montagne (beside 1234).

Due to circumstances beyond our control, the Big Daddy Kane Canadian Tour has been postponed. Old school legend Big Daddy Kane will now be coming to Montreal on Friday March 27th, 2009. He will be performing at The Saints, 30 Ste-Catherine W. All tickets purchased for the Dec. 19th date will be honored for the new date.
