Have you ever noticed that there are some nights that there is just no where to go and nothing to do… And then on other nights, you are just overwhelmed ?? Well this Saturday, November 29th is one of those nights… So many places to go, so many things to do… It is just not fair… If you don’t hit one of these events, then don’t complain to me mid-January when there ain’t nothing to do but make snow angels…
By the way… this ends off November… But December is a whole other beast… and we have so many events, such as Las Lap, Big Daddy Kane, and of course Blaster’s Birthdays… but I think we have done enough for this week… plus it is 11am and I haven’t slept yet, and I need to nap before the weekend… For the Americans happy Thanksgiving!! I had some leftover Turkey this morning, but then I realised that our Thanksgiving was last month… so I am not feeling so well… So here are the events!!

Hip Hop’s power duo, Smif-N-Wessun from the Boot Camp Clik will be in Montreal this Saturday, November 29th. They will playing an up close and intimate concert at Salle Lambi, 4495 St-Laurent Blvd, Metro Mont-Royal. Doors open at 7:30pm, and Showtime is 8:30pm.
The duo, consisting of members Tek and Steele, are also known as the Cocoa Brovaz. They have been performing for over a decade. Their debut album, Dah Shinin became an influential album in the hardcore Hip Hop scene of the mid ’90s and is considered a rap classic. Their fourth release, Smif-N-Wessun: The Album came out last year. They are best known for the anthem “Bucktown†and the white label single, “Super Brooklynâ€, which featured an illegal sample from Super Mario Bros. video game. Smif-N-Wessun are also one quarter of the Brooklyn supergroup Boot Camp Clik, with Buckshot, Heltah Skeltah and O.G.C.
Accompanying Smif-N-Wessun on stage will be Theology 3 from Toronto, La Clinick featuring L’Queb & Frenchi, and Buzzy Bwoy with his new album, Jusqu’au cut. Music provided by DJ Manzo.
Advance tickets are only $19.50, available at Off The Hook, City Styles, and SubV. This concert is presented by BMC Music, Escape Entertainment and Dreamskai.
There will be an after-party for Smif-N-Wessun at Le Ballroom as part of the club’s anniversary celebrations. Music will be provided by Team Canada, Canada’s most in-demand Mash-Up DJs. The first 40 people with ticket stubs from the show will receive free entry and complimentary drinks, courtesy of Escape Entertainment. Ballroom is located at 3643, Boul St-Laurent.
This Saturday November 29th, we celebrate the 16th anniversary of Masters at Work, one of this city’s top radio programs. Ken Dawg and Mike Mission have ruled the airwaves on CKUT 90,3FM for as long as we can remember. A crazy all star party featuring the Masters at Work crew, alongside resident DJs Payce, Mahesh and MC The Almighty Chops. With Live Performances by Reggae Juno Award Artist Mikey Dangerous and CTB Featuring Mugz, Ak and 1 Shot. 120$ Bottle Specials before midnight. Masters at Work airs live every Saturday between 7pm-9pm on CKUT 90.3FM

A couple of birthdays I have to shout out, both taking place on Friday Nov. 28th (tonight)… Duraney is celebrating his birthday down at Saints, while Otto & Wally are celebrating their birthday (until Otto turns red or when Wally disappears) down at Tonic with a whole heap of DJs… And we love the flyer guys…
